There are a number of LOVELY gardens to visit at the Hanley Swan Open Gardens, held over May Bank Holiday weekend.
May Spring Bank Holiday Weekend – 12 pm to 5 pm
Visit Hanley Swan Open Gardens and enjoy the consummate English Village with all the requisite hallmarks:
- A village green
- A village pond with plenty of ducks
- Our very own Heron
- A royal sized oak tree
- The Swan country Inn
- Village store and family Butcher
Hanley Swan sits at the foothills of the fabulous Malvern Hills!
Over the May Spring Bank Holiday weekend, the villages enthusiastically invite you to share our good fortune and join our annual ‘Garden Party’. Most years we complement our Open Gardens with a craft show and ‘Scarecrow shindig’ at St. Gabriel’s Church.
There are 17 Open Gardens spread around the extended village. If walking (circa 3 miles), lighten the load by using the footpath joining Roberts End, Picken End, and Gilberts End. If driving, please use car parks (at gardens 1,10 and 17 and St Gabriels).
Your ticket is valid for ALL 3 days if returning please retain and wear your entry stickers.
Light lunches and delicious cream teas will be served throughout the weekend at the Grange (garden 1) and cream teas int he church (also quite tasty)
There are always different events taking place over the Hanley Swan Open Gardens weekend so check the current leaflet to see ‘What’s On’.
- Snapper of the year
- Scarecrow competition
- Craft Fair
- Village Car Talk
- Dwarf Conifers Talk
- National Fencing Museum
Each year the organisers arrange a different competition for everyone to take part in, and that is normally listed on the leaflet and in the local village magazine.
Below is a copy of a past leaflet so you can see a little information about the gardens on show most years. It does sometimes change from year to year, so if you’ve been before, you will certainly enjoy seeing how each garden has developed and along with catching up with any new gardens on the list. Each garden offers something different and everyone is so welcoming and interesting to chat to.
